Dr. Winger attended the Royal Veterinary College in London, England for his veterinary degree, graduating in September 2022. He attended Stony Brook University (SUNY) in New York State for his undergraduate degree, majoring in marine biology. After completing his undergraduate degree in 2013, he moved out west to Portland, OR, where he worked in an aquarium for a year in animal husbandry management. Following his time at the aquarium, he worked for a year and a half at a veterinary hospital as a veterinary assistant. In 2017, he moved across the pond to London, England to begin his vet school career and finishing five years later in 2022.
Dr. Winger began his career as a veterinarian with Great Lakes Hospital for Animals in the fall of 2022. He is a member of both the American and Michigan Veterinary Medicine Associations, as well as the British Veterinary Association. Dr. Winger’s areas of interest in veterinary medicine include dermatology, internal medicine, and exotic animal practice.
Dr. Winger currently lives in Grand Rapids with his wife, Anna, and their elderly cat, Plato. In his spare time, Dr. Winger enjoys playing video games, watching and playing sports, and going to farmer’s markets.
